    (Nope… not Christmas!)

    It’s the 2026 BMQG GET-AWAY!!!!

Will you be one of the first FIFTY lucky members to snag a spot???
We are absolutely thrilled to share that plans for the 2026 BMQG Get-Away are officially underway! Mark your calendars for March 27–29, 2026, with an optional extra sewing day on Thursday, March 26, all happening at the cozy and ever-welcoming Town and Country Inn in Gorham, NH!

Hop over to the BMQG website for everything you need to know—registration dates, hotel and food package info, all under the “Special Events” tab. The entire Get-Away section has been refreshed, and yes… the ever-helpful FAQ page awaits!
And guess what? We’re bringing back workshops! They’re completely optional—join in the fun or simply keep happily stitching on your own projects. You do you! Here’s what’s lined up:
    • Thursday, March 26:  Flip and Fill Baskets – adorable, quick, three sizes (4”, 6”, 8”), and they fold flat! Our team may or may not have done a little happy dance over these…
    • Friday, March 27:  BLOCK PARTY! This year’s block is the Scrappy String Foundation. Will you be the lucky winner who takes home all the blocks to turn into a fabulous quilt or wall hanging? So much fun!
    • Saturday, March 28:  Patchwork Mini Charm Bag – a “charm-ing” little project made from mini charm packs or your own 2½" scraps. Three different styles, endless possibilities, and perfect for sewing goodies, makeup, or anything else you love!

    ❄️ Check Out the 2025 Get-Away Challenge! ❄️
The 2025 Get-Away at the Town and Country Inn in Gorham, NH was filled with laughs, stitches, and yes… snow! Our challenge theme, “Snowy Day,” was inspired by the unforgettable 2024 Get-Away Nor’easter, when quilters turned snow removal into a true art form—clearing paths to cars and digging out with plenty of creativity (and humor!).
We had six brave contestants take on the challenge, and every quilt was a showstopper. Truly, you all ‘snowed’ us with your talent!
  • BMQG Get-Away Frequently Asked Questions
       (www.bmqg.org)

    1. What is the Get-Away? Answer:  Think of it as a “Cabin Fever Reliever” where fabric scraps multiply faster than rabbits, sleep is optional, and the only drama is whether your bobbin will last to the end of the seam. It’s basically camp for quilters—minus the mosquitoes, plus unlimited thread. Annually it is held in early spring at a resort (preferably in northern New Hampshire) on Fri-Sun, with an optional extra sewing day on Thursday.
    2.  What is the ‘extra sewing day’? Answer: Many people have asked for an extra day of sewing, so we are providing Thursday as a ‘sew on your own day.’ Meals are on your own until the actual Get-away event begins at 5 pm on Friday evening.
    3.  How do I register? Answer: This is a two-step process. First, fill out the Google form on the BMQG website before the deadline date and mail in your non-refundable registration fee to BMQG Get-Away, P.O. Box 6174, Laconia, NH 03247-6174. Second, after you receive an email confirming your registration, you call the hotel (Town and Country Inn and Resort in Gorham, NH). Telephone # (603)466-3315 or (800)325-4386. Provide credit card information for a one-night deposit and your roommate’s name (if you have a roommate).  Only one person has to give the deposit. At check-in time the food package and the rest of your lodging will be added to your account. Inform the hotel you are part of the Belknap Mill Quilters group to get the reduced group rate. DO NOT MAKE YOUR RESERVATION ONLINE. If you do, you will be charged full hotel rates.
    4.  What is the facility like? Answer: The Town & Country Inn is a family-run and owned resort, spanning two buildings: a motel-like building across the parking lot from the main building; the main building is where you check in, a restaurant, a lounge, and the function rooms on the lower level where our sewing rooms are located. You’ll be able to drive up to your motel room door and roll your suitcases into your room. Rooms also open up to an interior hallway; rooms are singles and doubles only. There is a small elevator in the main lobby to use to send your sewing equipment to the lower level. Also available for use are a pool, sauna, jacuzzi, hot tub, workout room, and steam room. There are smoke detectors in each hotel room and a full sprinkler system in the main building. Each room has a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. The restaurant will be open for dinner on Thursday and breakfast on Friday. There are other restaurants available in the area.
    5.  Can I bring food to share with everyone? Answer: YES! In fact, snacks are considered the unofficial currency of the Get-Away. Just set them up on the bar in either sewing room and watch your popularity soar. Please bring a covered drink container so we don’t baptize anyone’s quilt in Diet Coke. Free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate will be flowing—because nothing fuels late-night quilting like sugar, caffeine, and just a hint of chaos.
    6.  What hours are available for sewing? Answer: The rooms should be ready for quilters by 9 a.m. on Thursday (for those arriving for the extra sew day) and will continue to be available until 12 noon on Sunday. As long as someone is in the room(s) sewing, they will be open; otherwise, the rooms will be locked for security reasons, so you may leave your machines and projects in the room. (Please note that times posted may be subject to change.)
    7.  What is the Challenge Exhibit? Answer: Each year at the close of the Get-Away weekend, a challenge theme is chosen for the next year. Everyone is eligible to participate in the challenge for ribbons and prizes; you must be present to enter. Check the website for more details.
    8.  Is it true that there are door prizes and raffles? Answer: YES! You can take chances on a terrific raffle basket (maybe two, or maybe even a mystery box). You could be the lucky winner of some wonderful quilting goodies. And there is also a drawing for the GRAND PRIZE, a gift certificate to be applied toward hotel and food for the following year's Get-Away.
    9.  Are there workshops or classes? Answer: Each year either a class or mini-workshops will be offered. These are optional. If there is an instructor-led class, there will be an additional class fee. It will be announced before registration, and sign-up will be part of the registration form. If the mini-workshops are offered, there is no additional fee, and you can pick and choose which you would like to do. These will also be announced before registration.
    10.  Are there any other activities? Answer: On Friday evening there will be a Welcome dinner, a wellness event (Yoga or masseuse) on Friday and/or Saturday, and a Show & Tell on Saturday evening, as well as door prizes and basket raffles. The Inn offers live entertainment in their lounge Friday and Saturday and use of the pool, sauna, etc., if you need a break.
    11.  What is the cost? Answer: There is a registration fee that must be paid to confirm your space at the Get-away.  The fee is $35 per person if registered and paid by January 31st, after that, the fee is $50. Fees must be paid by February 28th!  If a fee is not received by the deadline, that space will be opened and offered to names on a waitlist.
